South Boston, MA – Officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter in custody at 7 Allstate Road at approximately 4:49 PM on Tuesday. Loss prevention personnel reported a known suspect had concealed 27 bottles of lotion in a large duffel bag and attempted to leave without paying.
The suspect had previously been trespassed from the store in November and is believed to have stolen merchandise valued over $56,000 from Target locations across several states.
Long Tran, 54, of Dorchester, was arrested and is expected to face charges of shoplifting by asportation over $250 and trespass in South Boston District Court.
