Search underway for missing 81-year-old man last seen in Silver Spring
Silver Spring, MD – Montgomery County Police have issued a Silver Alert as they continue searching for 81-year-old George Frederick Corum Jr., who was last seen Tuesday afternoon in the 15500 block of Baileys Lane in Silver Spring.
Corum, who suffers from health conditions that may put him at increased risk, was reported missing after he failed to return home around 12 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities say he was last seen wearing a black and gray flannel shirt with blue jeans. He is described as being 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with brown eyes and gray or balding hair.
Police released two photos of Corum, including one from a surveillance camera showing him walking outside. It is not clear where he may have been headed, and no known destination has been confirmed.

The Silver Alert remains active as officers and search teams canvas the surrounding neighborhoods. Officials urge residents in the area to check their security footage and property for any signs of Corum, particularly between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday.
