Sharon Springs store sells $100K Powerball winner with Power Play

Sharon Springs, NY – A small-town convenience store in Schoharie County has handed out a big win after a Powerball ticket with the Power Play option earned a player $100,000 on Saturday.

The winning ticket was sold at Stewart’s Shops, located at 526 Highway 20 in Sharon Springs, the New York Lottery announced Monday. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball for the October 11 drawing, and with the Power Play multiplier, the prize doubled from $50,000 to $100,000.

While the Powerball jackpot continues to roll, this win adds to a growing number of New Yorkers scoring major non-jackpot prizes thanks to the Power Play feature, which can multiply lower-tier wins up to 10 times.

Officials have not confirmed whether the winner has come forward. The Stewart’s Shops location is now listed among New York’s latest lucky retailers.

Powerball drawings are televised three times a week — every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — with millions of players across the country participating.
