Clarkstown, NY – A snow plow crash was reported overnight in Clarkstown as between 10 and 12 inches of snow fell across the town, leaving roadways covered and forcing widespread service cancellations.
Town officials said the incident resulted in property damage but did not report injuries. The crash has since been cleared, according to local authorities, and overall emergency call volume remained low through the night.
Supervisor George Hoehmann said steady snowfall combined with consistent winds created snow-covered roadways throughout the town by early morning. Accumulation totals were estimated between 10 and 12 inches, though drifting made precise measurements difficult.
Despite the heavy winds, Orange and Rockland Utilities reported no power outages within the town limits.

Services canceled as cleanup continues
Garbage and recycling collection were canceled for the day, with residents instructed to place materials out on their next regularly scheduled pickup. Clarkstown Minitrans bus service was suspended for the morning, and officials said a determination would be made later about afternoon operations.
All senior clubs and recreation activities were canceled. Town Hall and community centers opened at their normal hours. Schools across Rockland County were closed for the day.
Officials said snow is expected to continue through the morning and early afternoon, extending cleanup operations across municipal roadways.
