Some Monroe Homes Without Power As JCP&L Continues Repairs

MONROE TWP, NJ – Following an earlier power surge issue reported resolved by JCP&L, Monroe Township’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) announces that outages have recurred in multiple communities.

The initial notice at 1:30 pm confirmed restoration of power across the township. However, by 3:00 pm, the Monroe Township Police Department and OEM started to receive reports of renewed outages in the Clearbrook and Encore Adult Communities, along with areas around Applegarth Road and Prospect Plains Road.

Township officials reported the discrepancy to JCP&L after the company’s online system indicated full power restoration. With JCP&L personnel reassessing the situation on-site, an updated report at 4:45 pm showed 683 residences still affected by the outage.

JCP&L is actively working to rectify the issue, and updates will be disseminated to residents as they become available. Residents are urged to report any power disruptions directly to JCP&L at their dedicated hotline.
