SR121 Bridge Reopened After Devices Marked “Explosive” Found, Removed

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the Alachua County bomb squad and Alachua County Fire and Rescue have cleared the SR121 Bridge at Union/Alachua County line and ensure motorists travel across the bridge is safe.
The notice comes after devices marked explosive was found on the Alachua County side of the bridge. Alachua County Bomb squad responded and c-rayed all the devices. They were determined to be safe and are currently being removed.
“Although units remain on scene, the area is safe and normal travel can resume. Thank you to the Alachua Co Fire/Rescue and Alachua Co Sheriffs Office bomb squad units for assisting and determining everything safe,” the department said.
