St. Mary’s County woman hits $50,000 jackpot on Break the Bank scratch-off

CHARLOTTE HALL, MD – A longtime Maryland Lottery player from St. Mary’s County is celebrating a $50,000 top-prize win after purchasing a Break the Bank scratch-off ticket at a local Weis Market.

The woman, a self-described weekend player who’s been buying tickets for more than 25 years, claimed her prize November 10 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

Her husband scratched the winning $5 ticket at home and, unsure of what they were seeing, handed it to her to confirm. A scan using the Maryland Lottery app revealed the message “See Retailer” — signaling a major win.
