STAMFORD, CT – The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took place on Thursday at approximately 11:08 PM at 100 Bridge St, Scalzi Park. The crash involved a 2001 Kawasaki dirt bike operated by 23-year-old Stamford resident, Oscar Chinchilla-Najarro.

According to the police, while navigating the outer roadway of Scalzi Park, Chinchilla-Najarro lost control of the motorcycle, mounted the curb, and collided with the guardrail on the east side of the park. The impact of the crash resulted in fatal injuries for Chinchilla-Najarro, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial findings suggest that the speed at which the motorcycle was being operated may have contributed to the accident. The investigation into the exact causes of the crash remains ongoing.

The Stamford Police are reaching out to the public for any additional information related to the incident. Witnesses or individuals with further details are encouraged to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at (203) 977-4712.
