POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — The New York State Police have issued a public safety alert following a series of targeted residential burglaries in the Hudson Valley, urging residents to take extra precautions.

Authorities said three burglaries occurred within the past week in Dutchess, Westchester, and Putnam counties. Investigators believe the incidents specifically targeted homes of Asian American residents.

In two of the reported cases, substantial amounts of U.S. currency and jewelry were stolen, police said. Officials have not disclosed details on possible suspects or patterns linking the break-ins.

State police are actively investigating the incidents and are encouraging residents to enhance home security measures. It is unclear whether the burglaries are connected to a larger crime trend in the region.

Residents with any information related to the burglaries are urged to contact the New York State Police as authorities work to determine the scope of the targeted crimes.
