STEVENSVILLE, MD – A significant structure fire damaged a one-story single-family home on Monday evening at 112 Maryland Road in Queen Anne’s County. The blaze, which is currently under investigation, resulted in an estimated $200,000 in damages to the structure and its contents.
The fire, which originated in the kitchen, was brought under control within 45 minutes by the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department. Sixty firefighters responded to the single-alarm fire, which was discovered by a neighbor. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.
The home, owned by Madeline Wallace, was equipped with a functioning smoke alarm that activated during the incident. However, there was no fire sprinkler system installed. Authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the fire.
