Suffolk County Officer Rescues Dogs from House Fire in Rocky Point

ROCKY POINT, NY — A Suffolk County Police officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing three dogs from a burning home in Rocky Point on Sunday.

Officer Matthew Ingui of the Seventh Precinct responded to the emergency on Magnolia Drive just after 5 p.m., where he witnessed the trapped animals through a window.

Acting quickly, Officer Ingui broke the window and successfully removed the dogs from the increasingly perilous situation. Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported.

The Suffolk County Police Department extended their gratitude to Officer Ingui for his brave actions and also acknowledged the multiple fire departments that collaborated to extinguish the fire. The quick response and teamwork ensured that the situation was handled safely and efficiently.
