Suitland woman wins $50K top prize on 20X the Cash scratch-off

Baltimore, MD – A Suitland woman who nearly skipped her regular lottery stop is now $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning scratch-off ticket on her way home from work.

The frequent player claimed the top prize February 20 at lottery headquarters in Baltimore, according to the Maryland Lottery. She told officials she routinely plays several times a week, favoring scratch-off tickets, and often stops at the 7-Eleven at 6404 Auth Road in Suitland.

On the day of her win, she considered driving past the store but changed her mind at the last minute. Among several tickets she purchased was a $5 20X the Cash scratch-off.

Later that day, after scratching the tickets at home, she found a match on the number 16 with a $50,000 prize printed beneath it.

Four top prizes remain in $5 game

The woman said she was initially stunned and unsure what to do after realizing she had won. She later contacted family and friends to share the news.

She plans to use the winnings toward the purchase of a new home and has also set aside funds for a vacation and a birthday celebration.

The 7-Eleven that sold the winning ticket will receive a $500 bonus, equal to 1% of the prize amount, for selling a top-prize winner in the 20X the Cash game.
