Sunglass Hut Shoplifter Assaulted Clerk, Charged

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Officers reported to an incident at the Sunglass Hut in Annapolis Mall on October 3 around 11:30 a.m., following a robbery.

As per the victim, an unidentified male and female, both dressed in dark clothing, assaulted her and made off with store merchandise. Detectives were able to trace a potential getaway vehicle, a white Mitsubishi SUV.

Shortly after, the Western District Detective Unit provided information that two suspects matching the description were detained. This followed a crash of the Mitsubishi while they were escaping from a theft at TJ Maxx. A subsequent search of the SUV led to the discovery of several pairs of sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut. The individuals have since been arrested and face relevant charges.

Their names have not been released by police at this time.
