Surveillance video captures suspect in Southeast DC shooting

Washington, D.C. — A quiet morning in Southeast DC turned violent when a gunman opened fire on a victim before fleeing the scene, officials said.

The shooting occurred on Feb. 23 around 11:10 a.m. in the 2700 block of Jasper Street, Southeast. Officers arrived to find property damage and a victim who was not injured. Investigators said the suspect exited a residence, fired at the victim, and then ran off.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, and police have released footage in hopes of identifying the shooter.
