Suspect arrested after alleged rock assault in Utica

Utica, NY – A domestic dispute on Genesee Street escalated into an alleged assault when a woman was struck in the face with a rock. The incident occurred at a residence on the 1400 block of Genesee Street.

The victim reported an argument with a woman she knew, during which the suspect picked up a rock and hit her in the side of the face. This resulted in a laceration and significant swelling.

Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene. On November 2, officers located 34-year-old Melissa Snyder and took her into custody.

She was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with assault in the second degree.
