Veterans Park Temporary Closure Announced for Police Training

Road Closures Announced for Baldwin Road
**Parsippany, NJ** – Starting at approximately 12 PM, Baldwin Road, situated between Route 46 East and Troy Road, will undergo lane closures as part of a paving project.
The construction may result in complete road closure and will also temporarily close the Route 46 East off-ramp to Baldwin Road. Detours will be clearly posted, and officers will be available on site to provide assistance during the paving work.
The public is advised to avoid the area if possible due to expected major delays. Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan alternative routes in response to these road closures.
Pennsylvania Retail Theft Ring Charges Announced
**HARRISBURG, PA** – Attorney General Michelle Henry and the Pennsylvania State Police have charged three alleged leaders of an organized retail theft ring. The group is accused of stealing merchandise, altering receipts, and making fraudulent returns at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls stores, leading to $850,000 in illegal payouts.
The charges stem from an investigation by the 50th Statewide Investigating Grand Jury. Nine individuals are implicated in the fraud and theft scheme, which began in 2022. The alleged leaders, Davon Whitfield, Naima Scott, and Zonay Griffin, face charges including corrupt organizations, organized retail theft, and forgery.
The criminal enterprise reportedly exploited return policies at TJX Companies, which operates T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, HomeSense, and Sierra. Merchandise was stolen and later returned for store credit, which was used for further purchases and converted to refunds on defendants’ debit cards.
In total, around 1,500 transactions tied to Whitfield, Scott, and Griffin accrued more than $700,000. Additional members charged are Shakeira Vivan, Miara Armstead, Harry Anderson, Lamar Washington, Jasmine
Kingsley Street Closure for Construction Detours Announced
**Asbury Park, NJ** – The Asbury Park Police Department announced that Kingsley Street at Sunset Avenue will be closed starting Tuesday, October 29, for approximately two to three weeks. Drivers can expect detours to be clearly marked with signs.
Northbound drivers will be redirected from Fifth Avenue to Ocean Avenue. They will then move north on Ocean Avenue to Sunset Avenue and west on Sunset Avenue to rejoin Kingsley Street.
Southbound drivers will follow a path east on Seventh Avenue and south on Ocean Avenue. They will proceed west on Fourth Avenue to reconnect with Kingsley Street.
During this period, Kim Marie’s will remain open. Access to the business will be available by following “Local Traffic Only” signs.
Traffic Restrictions Announced for South Cumberland’s Halloween Parade
**Cumberland, MD** – Several streets will be temporarily closed in South Cumberland for the Annual Halloween Parade on Wednesday.
Street closures will commence at 5:30 p.m., impacting Virginia Avenue, East First Street from Virginia Avenue to Wempe Drive, South Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, Seymour Street, Grand Avenue, East Second Street, and East Third Street. These restrictions will last until the parade begins at 7:00 p.m., with no parking allowed on these streets after 4:00 p.m. on the same day. Race Street will remain open as an emergency route.
Virginia Avenue, including its intersection with Industrial Boulevard, will close to through traffic at 6:30 p.m., followed by a full closure of Industrial Boulevard at Blackiston Avenue at 7:00 p.m. Drivers are advised to use Messick Road for access to Interstate 68. Blackiston Avenue to Oldtown Road will serve as a detour, while Oak Street provides an alternate access route to Industrial Boulevard by way of West Third Street.
Buses transporting students and parade participants can still use the closed streets. All other motorists must seek alternative routes during these times.
