Newport News Police Seek Public’s Help in Double Homicide Case

**Newport News, VA -** The Newport News Police Department is again seeking public assistance in the ongoing investigation of a double homicide that occurred at the Kiln Creek 7-Eleven on June 15, 2022. Authorities are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who have previously provided information about the case.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at approximately 11:46 p.m., police were dispatched to a reported suspicious situation at a business located on the 1400 block of Kiln Creek Parkway. Upon arrival, they discovered two adult males with gunshot wounds inside the establishment. The victims, identified as 52-year-old Preyas Patel and 35-year-old Logan Edward Thomas, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 7-Eleven Corporation is now offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest related to this case. Individuals with knowledge about the incident or who can identify relevant persons are encouraged to contact Detective Rogers at 757-928-4219. This reward is separate from the Virginia Peninsula Crime Stoppers reward, and anonymity is not maintained for those seeking the 7-Eleven reward.

Columbus Police Announce Arrest in Double Shooting, Murder

Columbus Police Conduct Investigation and Make Arrests in Shooting Case

**Columbus, OH** – On February 26, at approximately 4:36 p.m., police officers responded to a shooting in the 4100 block of Blakewell Lane. Upon arrival, they found 42-year-old Antwan Lewis and 31-year-old Harold Forrest III with gunshot wounds. Lewis was declared dead at the scene while Forrest was transported to a hospital but later pronounced dead.

On February 28, detectives charged 32-year-old Brandon Colbert with two counts of murder in connection with the incident. He was subsequently arrested on March 1.

By March 2, detectives also charged 33-year-old Abdou Seye with two counts of murder related to the case. On Sunday, Mr. Seye was found and arrested in Detroit, MI, by agents from SOFAST and the U.S. Marshals.

Columbus homicide detectives traveled to Detroit to conduct an interview with Mr. Seye. Presently, he is held in the Wayne County Jail, Michigan, awaiting extradition to Franklin County.
