Rockland County Corrections Officer Arrested on Child Sex Abuse Material Charges
**Rockland County, NY** – Daniel Dworkin, 44, of Valley Cottage, New York and a Sergeant at the Rockland County Jail, was arrested Monday. The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office charged him with 51 counts each of promoting and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
The case began with a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, leading to searches of Dworkin’s residence and electronic devices. The investigation was conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and included local law enforcement support.
District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II expressed the seriousness of the charges, given Dworkin’s role in law enforcement. He affirmed a commitment to child protection and accountability in the legal process.
Dworkin was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court, where bail was set at $500,000 cash, $1 million bond, or $1.5 million partially secured bond. The proceedings will continue on November 25, with Gerard M. Damiani III and Joseph Santangelo as prosecutors.
Union City Man Arrested for Possession of Child Abuse Material
**Union City, NJ** – A Union City man, Carlos Manzini, 76, has been arrested by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office following an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The arrest took place on Tuesday at a residence on 33rd Street in Union City.
The charges against Manzini include Endangering the Welfare of a Child/Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, a second-degree crime. After the arrest, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, awaiting his first court appearance.
The case began on March 20, when the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office received a tip about the uploading of child sex abuse material from an electronic device. Detective work revealed hundreds of abusive materials on Manzini’s computer.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited multiple law enforcement units, including the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Special Victims Unit, Cyber Crimes Unit, and Union City Police Department, for their roles in the investigation and arrest. The charge remains an accusation, and Manzini is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
