PRINCETON, NJ – A 24-year-old man from Princeton Borough was arrested on Friday, February 21 after authorities uncovered evidence of online child exploitation, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey.
Oliver Diaz Pulex faces one count of second-degree distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and one count of third-degree possession of CSAM. Prosecutors allege that Pulex knowingly used the internet or social media to share material depicting a child in sexually explicit acts.
The case began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit about a suspected CSAM file uploaded by someone in the county. Detectives launched an investigation, which led them to Pulex.
On Friday, a multi-agency team—including the ICAC Unit, Special Victims Unit, Economic Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Mercer County Tactical Response Team—executed a search warrant at Pulex’s Witherspoon Street residence in Princeton. Authorities confiscated several items deemed significant to the case. Pulex was arrested at the scene without resistance and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.
At an initial court appearance that afternoon, a judge ordered Pulex’s release pending further court proceedings. A second-degree conviction could mean five to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $150,000, while a third-degree conviction carries a potential three-to-five-year sentence and a fine of up to $15,000.
