Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Stamford
**Stamford, CT** – The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is conducting an investigation into a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred near the intersection of Long Ridge Road and Brook Run Lane. The incident took place on Thursday at approximately 12:10 a.m.
A 2014 BMW motorcycle was traveling northbound on Long Ridge Road when it veered off the roadway near Brook Run Lane. The vehicle struck a fence and then collided with a tree, resulting in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle.
The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 44-year-old Stamford resident Heber Lopez, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information or who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at (203) 977-4712. The investigation is being led by Sgt. Jeffrey Booth and Officer Lindsey Yanicky.
Stamford Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash
**Stamford, CT** – The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that happened on Long Ridge Road near its intersection with Brook Run Lane early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 12:10 a.m. involving a 2014 BMW motorcycle.
The motorcycle was traveling northbound when it left the roadway, striking a fence before hitting a tree. The operator was ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the crash.
The deceased was identified as a 44-year-old resident of Stamford. Authorities are withholding the name of the deceased until family members are notified. The operator was alone on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.

Stamford Man Indicted on Fentanyl Trafficking Charges
**Stamford, CT** – The U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Vanessa Roberts Avery, and Stephen P. Belleau, the Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England, announced charges against Darius Gamble, 39, of Stamford. Gamble, also known as “Rell,” faces charges for fentanyl trafficking offenses.
According to investigations by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stamford Police Department, Gamble was identified as a large-scale fentanyl distributor. On September 1, authorities executed a controlled purchase of approximately 50 grams of fentanyl from him.
Gamble was arrested on September 12 following a criminal complaint. During the arrest, law enforcement found approximately 42 grams of fentanyl, a kilogram press machine, narcotics processing tools, and $31,307 in cash in his residence. A further search of his vehicle revealed an additional six grams of fentanyl.
