Dc teen arrested in Columbia Road armed robbery in shoe sale ambush
WASHINGTON, DC – On Monday a routine meet‑up to buy a pair of shoes on Columbia Road turned violent when one of the suspects produced a handgun and forced the seller to hand over the merchandise before fleeing, and police announced a suspect arrest weeks later after investigating the August incident.
The Metropolitan Police Department says the robbery occurred on Wednesday, August 6 at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Columbia Road, Northwest, when suspects approached a victim who had arranged to complete a sale. One suspect displayed a handgun, demanded the victim’s property, then fled the scene with an accomplice.
After an investigation that included witness canvassing and follow‑up leads, officers arrested a 17‑year‑old juvenile male from Northwest, D.C., on Friday, October 3. The juvenile was charged with armed robbery (gun). No additional arrests have been announced and the case remains under active investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
