Teen fatally shot in head inside Queens home, gunman at large

QUEENS, NY – A 19-year-old man was killed Thursday morning after being shot in the head inside a Jamaica residence, police said.

Officers responded around 10:45 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 172-09 108 Avenue.

When they arrived, they learned the victim had been shot by an unidentified assailant who fled the scene.

EMS transported the teen to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives searching for shooter

Investigators from the 103rd Precinct are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to determine what led to the fatal shooting. Police have not yet disclosed whether the attack appeared targeted or random.

Ongoing homicide investigation

The NYPD’s Homicide Squad is assisting in the case. The identity of the victim will be released once next of kin have been notified. No arrests have been made, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
