Teen slashed in broad daylight at Bronx bus stop after verbal dispute turns violent

Bronx, NY – A 19-year-old woman was slashed across the hand at a Bronx bus stop during a midday argument that quickly escalated into a bloody attack, police said.

The assault happened around 12:47 p.m. on Wednesday in front of 1180 Webster Avenue, as the victim waited at the BX41 bus stop. According to investigators, an unidentified woman approached the teen, leading to a heated verbal exchange. Without warning, the suspect spat on the victim, then pulled out a knife and slashed her across the left hand.

The victim suffered a severe laceration and was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where she was listed in stable condition.

The attacker fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on Webster Avenue. She remains at large.

Police described the suspect as a female with a medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue pants, and a black bonnet.

The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspect and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her.
