Police say gunfire erupted on N Street leaving two men and a young boy injured
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A teenage suspect is now in custody after a shooting in Northwest Washington left three people wounded, including a child, during a burst of gunfire that sent victims rushing to the hospital.
The Metropolitan Police Department announced Friday that a 15-year-old juvenile male from Northwest D.C. was arrested in connection with the April shooting.
According to investigators, the gunfire erupted April 28 at approximately 7:07 p.m. in the 400 block of N Street Northwest.
Third District officers responding to reports of shots fired found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene.
DC Fire and EMS transported both victims to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Police said a third victim, a male child who was also struck by gunfire, was taken to a hospital by family members for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the investigation, authorities arrested the juvenile suspect Friday and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon involving a gun.
MPD said the investigation remains active.
