Catalytic converters stolen from vehicles at Stafford automotive shop
STAFFORD, VA — A Stafford County business is dealing with costly damage after two vehicles on its property were targeted for their catalytic converters, leading to an ongoing investigation by local deputies.
On Tuesday morning, Corbin’s Automotive Truck & RV, located at 348 Kings Highway, reported the thefts to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded at approximately 11:24 a.m. and confirmed that catalytic converters had been removed from two separate vehicles parked at the business.
The parts, often targeted for their valuable metal content, can be removed quickly and resold on the black market, making them a frequent target in property crimes. Authorities did not disclose the estimated value of the stolen parts or whether surveillance footage was available.
Deputy J. A. Kotvas is handling the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
