Third Graders Visit Newport News Police Department

Newport News, VA – Third-grade students from An Achievable Dream Academy recently visited the Newport News Police Department headquarters. The visit provided students with firsthand insight into the work of the NNPD K-9 Unit and Drone Team.

During their visit, officers presented demonstrations featuring K-9 obedience and bomb detection. The Drone Team showcased its capabilities in heat detection.

The students also had an opportunity to interact with K-9 PJ, who offered friendly greetings to the visiting children. The interaction was part of an educational experience aiming to foster understanding of police operations.
