Three Maryland players hit million-dollar jackpots in one winning week

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Maryland Lottery kicked off the new year with a trio of million-dollar winners, including a Pikesville player who struck it big in the Holiday Raffle drawing, a FAST PLAY ticket holder in Gaithersburg, and a $2 million scratch-off winner from the Eastern Shore.

The Holiday Raffle not only produced the week’s first new millionaire but also delivered 10 additional $100,000 prizes to players across the state. Winning tickets were sold in Belcamp, Berlin, Bethesda, Dundalk, Laurel, Lonaconing, Middle River (two), Ocean City, and Temple Hills. As of January 5, none of those large prizes had yet been claimed. A separate $100,000 scratch-off ticket sold in Lexington Park rounded out the week’s top-tier wins.

Between December 29 and January 4, 41 Maryland Lottery players collected prizes worth $10,000 or more, contributing to nearly $36 million in total payouts statewide.

Lottery officials urged winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and store them securely until claiming. Draw game and FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after their respective drawing or purchase dates. Scratch-off players can find expiration dates for each game at mdlottery.com.

Prizes exceeding $25,000 must be redeemed by appointment at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore. Winnings of up to $25,000 may be claimed at cashier windows in any of Maryland’s six casinos, and prizes of up to $5,000 are redeemable at more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program locations. Tickets valued at $600 or less can be cashed at any Maryland Lottery retailer.
