Three Shot, One Dead In D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC – A fatal shooting incident in Southeast D.C. is under investigation after resulting in one death and two injuries.

The incident was reported on the evening of March 27, at around 7:45 p.m., within the 3400 block of Stanton Road SE, following reports of gunfire. Shortly after that, three individuals, all suffering from gunshot wounds, were discovered seeking medical attention at a nearby hospital. Among the victims, an adult male and a juvenile male received treatment for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

The investigation took a grim turn on March 28, with the death of the third victim, identified as 26-year-old Amaru Cureton, a resident of Southeast D.C. The D.C. Metro Police Department has issued a call for information about this case, urging anyone with insights to contact them at 202-727-9099.
