Toledo cop struck by car while performing traffic control

TOLEDO, OH – A Toledo police officer was struck by a motorist while inside his car performing traffic control duty.

According to the Toledo Police Department, on Sunday, the officer was transported to an area hospital for injuries resulting from an accident on I-75.

“The officer was conducting traffic control for an unrelated accident when the officer’s patrol vehicle was struck by another motorist. The officer’s injuries are not life-threatening,” the department said in a statement. “There are no other updates at this time.”

The officer’s name was not released. The name of the driver was not released.
