Toledo Resident Saves Suicidal Woman from Drowning After Bridge Jump

TOLEDO, OH—A dramatic rescue unfolded on July 31, when the Toledo Police Department (TPD) and Toledo Fire Department (TFD) responded to an emergency on the Martin Luther King Bridge.

A caller reported a person jumping off the bridge, followed by a splash, and a sighting of someone struggling in the water.

A local hero promptly jumped into the water to rescue the individual, successfully bringing them back to shore. Both the rescuer and the rescued were assisted by TFD personnel and safely retrieved from the water.

The rescued individual, a female, was then transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The Toledo Police Department urges anyone in crisis to seek help immediately.
