Toms River Charlie Brown’s closed for over a year? What’s Next? Texas Roadhouse?

TOMS RIVER, NJ – It’s been more than a year since Charlie Brown’s was forced to shut down. Once the home of the infamous local dive bar, Phil’s Liquor Locker Lounge, the future is waiting to see what’s next at the location at the intersection of Kettle Creek Road and Hooper Avenue.

This week, rumors swirled about a Texas Roadhouse coming to the site, but that has yet to be confirmed, but might be unlikely. The building is small by Texas Roadhouse standards and the parking is limited. While the Jaggers-owned chain is one of the faster-growing restaurant chains in America, for now, you’ll have to drive a bit north for the nearest Texas Roadhouse in Howell on Route 9.

The location is a prime spot for a restaurant, serving southern Brick Township, the Silverton section of Toms River, and the large Holiday City at Silverton adult community.
