WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will hold its inaugural Jersey Shore 5K Run this Sunday, honoring fallen first responders and military heroes.
The event is expected to draw large crowds and temporary traffic closures throughout the morning.
Police are urging drivers to plan ahead and avoid affected areas during the race.
Road closures and restrictions announced
According to township officials, roads impacted from approximately 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. include Allaire Road between State Highway 34 and New Bedford Road, Campbell Road, 18th Avenue from Allenwood Road to New Bedford Road, Baileys Corner Road between 18th Avenue and Allaire Road, as well as Celeste Drive and Concord Drive. Parking will be prohibited along these streets from midnight until noon on race day.
Police and volunteers to manage traffic
Wall Township Police and event staff will be stationed along the route to assist with detours, direct traffic, and ensure safety for participants and spectators. The township thanked residents for their cooperation as the community gathers to support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s mission of honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow extra travel time during the event.
