Twelve new corrections officers sworn in to serve Ocean County

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Ocean County officially welcomed a new class of twelve corrections officers during a swearing-in ceremony Wednesday afternoon at the county administration complex.

Commissioner Virginia Haines administered the oath of office, congratulating the recruits as they joined the ranks of the Ocean County Department of Corrections.

Each officer pledged to uphold the safety and integrity of the county’s correctional system, marking the start of their public service careers.

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners commended the officers for their commitment to community service and thanked them for taking on a demanding and essential public safety role.

Ceremony marks next generation of county officers

County officials said the new hires represent the continued effort to maintain strong staffing levels within the correctional facility while promoting professionalism and accountability among its ranks. Family members, colleagues, and law enforcement leaders attended the ceremony to show support.
