BOSTON, MA – Officers from Boston Police District C-11, working alongside the B-2 and B-3 Drug Control Units, arrested two men on Tuesday following a search of two Dorchester residences linked to an ongoing narcotics investigation. Authorities identified the primary suspect as 44-year-old Dana Jordan of Dorchester.

Shortly before 2 p.m., investigators conducting surveillance observed Jordan leave a residence at 41 Norton Street and later stopped him inside a grocery store at 217 Bowdoin Street. Officers then executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Norton Street home, announcing their presence before entering through an unlocked door. Inside, officers located two individuals and conducted a protective sweep of the premises.

During the search, police recovered a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and another bag with 54 pills identified as oxycodone. Investigators later determined that Jordan had been staying between the Norton Street address and a second residence at 28 Jacob Street, where 64-year-old Dana Smart was also living.

After securing the first location, officers proceeded to the Jacob Street residence, where they made contact with Smart. Once inside, officers reported observing drug paraphernalia in Smart’s bedroom, including cocaine residue, marijuana residue, a scale, and plastic baggies. Further investigation led to the discovery of two firearms concealed in a bag under a bed — a Colt .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a loaded .38 Special revolver — along with additional ammunition.

Smart was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. Jordan was also taken into custody as part of the investigation.

Both men are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. The investigation remains ongoing.
