MOORE COUNTY, NC – A home invasion off Sand Pit Road near Aberdeen resulted in the death of Tynasha Collins, 23.
Responding to a shooting report on Forest Circle in the Sherwood Park subdivision Sunday afternoon, officials found Collins shot in her residence.
The assailants had fled the scene. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields stated that an exchange of gunfire took place inside the house.
Darius Nicholson, 17, believed to be one of the invaders, was also shot and later succumbed to his injuries at Moore Regional Hospital. Despite paramedics’ efforts, Collins was declared dead at the scene.
Law enforcement located a vehicle matching a given description related to the shooting, and a person of interest is currently under questioning.
