BALTIMORE — Police are investigating a shooting that left two individuals wounded early Sunday in Baltimore’s Southern District.

Around 3:43 a.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire on the unit block of West Hamburg Street, where they found a 19-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to authorities.

Homicide detectives were alerted due to the severity of the woman’s injuries, though her condition was not immediately disclosed.

Shortly after, at approximately 4:14 a.m., officers were called to a hospital, where a 28-year-old man was located with gunshot wounds. Investigators determined that he had also been shot on West Hamburg Street.

The investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
