Two men convicted in deadly Montgomery County home invasion targeting wrong house

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. — Two men were convicted Thursday evening of murder and related charges for a December 2024 home invasion that left a 25-year-old man dead and his mother paralyzed after they mistakenly targeted the wrong house.

Charles Fulforth, 41, and Kelvin Roberts Jr., 42, were found guilty on seven felony counts each following a jury’s four-hour deliberation. The pair was convicted of murdering Andrew Gaudio and seriously injuring his mother, 61-year-old Bernadette Gaudio, during the violent break-in on December 8.

According to prosecutors, Fulforth and Roberts believed they were robbing a home with a cache of firearms but ended up at the wrong residence in a different county. Both men worked together at Junkluggers and were allegedly involved in illegal gun trafficking.

During the trial, Bernadette Gaudio testified that she heard her son call for her before he was fatally shot in the head as he lay face down on the floor of her bedroom. She was shot multiple times by Roberts and left paralyzed.

“They went into the wrong house with bad intentions and shot an innocent 61-year-old woman as she lay in her bed and they executed her 25-year-old son,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said following the arrests.

Sentencing dates for Fulforth and Roberts have not yet been announced.
