WASHINGTON -The Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill was evacuated for about two hours on Thursday due to an alarm, U.S. Capitol police said.
The all-clear was given shortly before 2:30 p.m. EST/1930 GMT.
A nearby street was closed temporarily as police investigated the matter. Cannon, completed in 1908, is the oldest House of Representatives office building.
