New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday evening. The incident took place around 6 p.m. at a warehouse complex on Bear Corbitt Road.
A 25-year-old man from Newark had arranged to sell Apple AirPods and an Apple iWatch to an unknown individual through text messages. The two met in the parking lot of the warehouse.
The suspect, arriving in a dark-colored SUV, exited the passenger side and attempted to take the items from the victim by force. The suspect displayed what appeared to be a handgun and struck the victim on the back of the head during the struggle.
The assailant fled the scene in the vehicle without the stolen items. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 24 to 25 years old and about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing, with curly black hair and an unshaven face.
