VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A 45-year-old Virginia Beach man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend on Pinecone Circle, police announced.

According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers responded to the 1300 block of Pinecone Circle around 7:01 a.m. on December 20 after receiving a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old Brinte Lamont Walston of Norfolk unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation by the department’s Homicide Unit, detectives identified Travis Cornelious Hunter as the suspect. Hunter was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
