Virginia Beach, VA — The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) recently recognized two dedicated volunteers for their long-term service to the city and the department.

Chief Neudigate honored Steven Prescott with a 20-year Volunteer Service award. Over his two decades of service, Prescott has contributed 15,324 volunteer hours. His work has been invaluable, assisting Crime Analysts by updating crime trends, editing the precincts’ daily bulletin, and entering traffic enforcement data and other intelligence information.

Jean Deliz was also celebrated, receiving her 15-year Volunteer Service award, though she is currently in her 18th year of service. Deliz has dedicated 18,369 volunteer hours to the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center, serving in various roles including Adult Volunteer Coordinator, Foster Parent, Animal Shelter Aide, and Vet Suite Staff Volunteer.

The VBPD expressed deep gratitude for the contributions of volunteers like Prescott and Deliz, acknowledging that their efforts significantly contribute to the department’s success.
