Wall Township reports 134 storm calls, multiple road hazards

Wall Township, NJ – Wall Township remains in the peak impact phase of a powerful winter storm, with police responding to more than 134 calls for service as heavy snow, strong wind gusts and low visibility continue to affect the area.

The Wall Township Police Department said officers, along with public works crews and emergency partners, have been working throughout the township since the storm began.

Officials reported several active hazards and closures across town, including a traffic light outage at State Highway 71 and Seventeenth Avenue. Multiple locations were impacted by downed trees and wires, including Gully Road, Herbertsville Road at Allenwood-Lakewood Road, Willow Drive, and 18th Avenue at Kimberly. Wires were also reported down on West Chicago Boulevard between Spruce and Cottonwood.

Authorities warned residents not to approach downed wires under any circumstances and to assume all wires are live and dangerous.

Roads remain unsafe amid heavy snow and wind

Police said road conditions across Wall Township remain extremely hazardous due to continued heavy snowfall, drifting, fallen trees and debris. Residents are urged to stay home and avoid travel to allow emergency responders and snow removal crews to operate safely.

Those experiencing power outages are advised to report them directly to JCP&L rather than calling 911 unless there is an emergency.
