Woman Found Shot in Crashed Car, Suspect Arrested in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — The D.C. Metro Police Department has apprehended 40-year-old Israel Beairs of Northeast D.C. for his involvement in a shooting that critically injured a woman. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning in the 1800 block of West Virginia Avenue, Northeast.

Fifth District officers were called to the scene around 12:14 AM after reports of gunshots. They found a woman inside a crashed vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Following a thorough investigation, Beairs was charged with assault with intent to kill while armed.
