Woman hospitalized after Salisbury shooting; suspect identified

SALISBURY, MD — A woman is recovering after being shot multiple times in the 500 block of North Curlew Road on Saturday afternoon, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 4:20 p.m. and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Law enforcement provided first aid before Emergency Medical Services transported her to TidalHealth, where she remains in stable condition despite what authorities described as life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division have identified the suspect as Dequan Maurice Bratten, 32, a Salisbury resident. An arrest warrant has been issued for Bratten, and authorities are actively seeking his whereabouts.
