BROOKLYN, NY – Police are searching for a woman who allegedly attacked a commuter waiting for the “L” train earlier this month at the Myrtle and Wyckoff Avenue station.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on October 2, when a 30-year-old woman was waiting on the northbound platform.

According to police, the suspect suddenly approached the victim and punched her in the face without warning.

The assailant then boarded an arriving train and fled to an unknown destination.

Victim declined medical attention

Authorities said the victim suffered minor facial injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene. The motive behind the unprovoked assault remains unclear.

The suspect is described as a female with a dark complexion who was last seen wearing a green sweatsuit. Detectives from the NYPD Transit Bureau are reviewing station surveillance footage as the investigation continues.
