Woman shot to death on Benning Road

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 28-year-old woman was killed in a shooting early Saturday on Benning Road in Northeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Around 12:51 a.m., Sixth District officers were flagged down in the 2000 block of Benning Road, Northeast, for an unconscious woman. They found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and EMS transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead after lifesaving efforts failed.

The victim has been identified as Daquane Johnson of Northeast, D.C.

The investigation remains ongoing, and a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
