Woodbridge gas station burglar pries open door, steals cash and merchandise

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Police are searching for a man who broke into a Mobil gas station on Gideon Drive early Wednesday morning, stealing money and merchandise before fleeing on foot.

The break-in occurred around 2:53 a.m. at the service station located at 14496 Gideon Drive, according to a Prince William County Police daily incident report. Investigators said the suspect forced his way inside by prying open a rear door, then took cash from both the ATM and the store register along with other items before escaping.

Officers were called to the scene at about 8:47 a.m., after employees discovered the damage later that morning. The amount of money stolen has not been released.

Suspect description released

Police described the suspect as a Black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, white socks, dark-colored slides, gloves, and carrying a backpack. No vehicle was seen in connection with the incident, and authorities believe the man left the area on foot.

Investigation ongoing

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing nearby businesses for additional leads. The Prince William County Police Department is urging anyone with information about the burglary to call the tip line at 703-792-7000 or submit a confidential web tip at pwcva.gov/policetip.
