Young man found shot dead on DC sidewalk

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 21-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Northwest D.C, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Just before 3 a.m. on June 8, officers from the Third District responded to the 1400 block of S Street NW after hearing gunfire. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS arrived shortly after and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Brandon Tolson of Northeast, D.C.

Authorities have not released information about a possible suspect or motive. The investigation remains ongoing.

MPD offers reward in fatal Northwest shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Tolson’s death.
