TRENTON, N.J. – The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office marked Youth Justice Action Month with a lively “Youth Justice Jam” at Mercer County Community College on Saturday.
Hundreds gathered inside the West Windsor gymnasium for a day of music, food, and community connection celebrating youth empowerment.
The event highlighted this year’s national theme, “United for Action – A Call for Unity,” calling attention to the need for collaboration and compassion in youth justice reform.

Community celebrates youth and unity
The Youth Justice Jam, hosted by the Prosecutor’s Community Outreach Restoration & Engagement (CORE) Unit, transformed the college gym into a celebration of hope and inclusion. Food trucks lined the lot, an ice cream truck served free treats, and a local DJ kept families dancing throughout the afternoon.
The event was part of a nationwide observance each October designed to raise awareness of the challenges young people face in the justice system and to promote fair, developmentally appropriate solutions.

Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey commended her staff and community partners for their ongoing dedication to youth outreach and engagement. She said events like this demonstrate how unity can inspire meaningful change.
“Events like this are a perfect example of how teamwork, positivity and partnership make a lasting difference,” Marbrey said. “It was a truly memorable day of music, games, food trucks and community as we celebrated the value and potential of young people.”
