Police hunt gunman after man shot on Georgia Avenue in Northwest D.C.

Washington, DC – A man was rushed to the hospital after gunfire erupted on Georgia Avenue NW in the early morning hours of August 26, leaving him wounded and sparking a citywide search for the shooter.

The shooting happened around 4:47 a.m. in the 3800 block of Georgia Avenue NW. Officers responding to reports of shots fired found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by D.C. Fire and EMS to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been made public.

Investigators later recovered surveillance footage showing the suspect in the area. Images have been released to help identify the individual.
